Industry Heavyweight and Former Npower CEO Joins Rapidly Growing UK Flexible Power Solutions Provider

Infra Balance New Energy (‘IBNE’ or ‘The Company’), a premium provider of flexible and dynamic energy storage and power solutions, is pleased to announce that it has appointed Volker Beckers as Non-Executive Chairman.

Mr Beckers is a leading figure in the Energy industry and joins the Company with more than 25 years of experience, including his time at RWE Npower plc, where he served as Group CFO from 2003 to 2009 and Group CEO from 2009 to 2012.

After working in the service sector, Volker has worked as a senior leader in RWE’s regulated and non-regulated divisions internationally, grid (transmission and distribution level), retail, and generation businesses.

For his efforts as a leader in the industry, he has been recognised in 2012 with the Supreme Award for “outstanding contribution to the industry”.

Since 2013 Volker has held non-executive roles in the public and private sectors, academia, and charities.  In his non-Executive portfolio, he also works with Start-up businesses providing support from his wide-ranging expertise.

Mr Beckers will lead an experienced IBNE board, built since the Company’s foundation, which includes members with deep knowledge of the UK and global energy sector, capital markets and corporate governance.
